RecipeWorks is designed to be used right in the kitchen to help alleviate the clutter and mess that is often found with loose recipes and unorganized books. With the powerful search tools available in RecipeWorks, you can easily find the recipe you are looking for without thumbing through several books. Not sure what to make for dinner? Just ask RecipeWorks! Enter a couple primary ingredients into the search tool and RecipeWorks will bring up some suggestions.

RecipeWorks can also help you plan your meals with the menu-planning feature. Schedule meals with a flexible repeat rule and your worries are over. Then, add the menu to your shopping list so you are sure to buy the items required for the menu.

RecipeWorks helps you keep track of your food storage and pantry inventory. When you use something from the inventory, it is automatically added to the shopping list. If you use a PDA, the item is added back to the inventory when you check it off the shopping list.

RecipeWorks links recipes to the USDA Nutrient Database to provide a complete Nutrition Facts table, including custom equations (such as netCarbs or WeightWatchers POINTS®)

After downloading the software, use an un-zipping utility (such as WinZip) to extract the setup files from the zip archive you downloaded. Then run the setup.exe program and follow the instructions. If you have problems installing the software, you may need to download the Windows Installer Redistributables available on the download page.

If you installed the evaluation version, you will need to use the Control Panel (Add/Remove Programs) to remove it before installing the full version.

RecipeWorks version 4.0 stores the user-settings (defined in the Options dialog) in a different manner than previous versions. As a result, it will not automatically open your recipe books. Simply use the File | Open menu command to locate your recipe books. After this, they should be opened automatically in the future.

RecipeWorks version 3.0 uses a different format for the recipe book, menu planning, and shopping list databases. It is unable to read the old versions. Therefore, you will need to open your recipe books in the new PC edition and export them to your Palm device.

Yes. On both Palm and PocketPC devices RecipeWorks can be run from the memory card. It can also access recipe books stored on the memory card. For Palm devices, a new book will be created in the main memory, but can later be moved to the card. On PocketPC devices, you need to explicitly open recipe books from the storage card.

The Palm HotSync Manager does not recognize new database files to be installed if the Install Tool has not been used since the last HotSync. Try exporting the data without specifying the user name in the Export Wizard. If the Install Tool does not launch, then find the exported .pdb file and manually add it to the Install Tool. Consult the Troubleshooting guide in the Help topics for more information.
